The foundation upon which all aspects of riding is based. Once a member gains a competence in dressage it puts them on a very strong footing to compete successfully in Eventing, Combined Training and Pure Dressage competitions.
Eventing is possibly the strongest discipline within the club starting with the hunter trials in March/April followed by the PC hunter trials which is a pairs competition for Juniors and a team of three competition for Intermediate and a singles for Seniors and Members.
Show jumping within the Pony Club is one of the core disciplines associated with almost every aspect of riding and we introduce children and their ponies to show jumping at a very early age with cross poles rallies.
Mounted Games is for all ages within the pony club and is an excellent introduction to younger members who gain confidence and control of their ponies while having fun.
Minimus has been very successful within KHPC over the past number of years from the boys and girls teams in Minimus(U12), where they Ride, Run and Swim.
The aim of the Irish Pony Club Tetrathlon is to provide members with a challenging competition requiring sound practical horsemanship and general athletic ability. Members must have passed their ‘C’ Test to be eligible to compete at Tetrathlon.
All Pony Club tests are optional but members are encouraged to progress through them during their time in Pony Club.
